- [The Mathis Catalog](https://durantcars.org/the-mathis-catalog/): In 1930 Durant struck a deal with the SA Mathis car company of France to produce and market one of its cars in America. The car was to be produced in Durant’s Lansing Michigan plant with a production target of 100,000 cars. This deal was seen as a terrific opportunity for Mathis to enter the American market. However, Durant ran out of money before production could begin. Mathis continued to be successful in France for many years to come.

It was a product line that was to fit between the Flint and the Locomobile, as a competitor to Cadillac. A prototype was first shown January 8 to 13, 1923 at the Lexington Automobile Company in New York City. Originally, Princetons were to be produced at the Muncie plant, but Durant later announced they would be produced at the Bridgeport plant. - [The Mason Truck Catalog](https://durantcars.org/the-mason-truck-catalog/): Mason RoadKing was Durant’s heavy truck line. Trucks were built between 1922 and 1925 at the Flint plant. Production of Mason RoadKing trucks was under direction of the Locomobile arm of Durant Motors.
- [The Locomobile Catalog](https://durantcars.org/the-locomobile-catalog/): Locomobile came into being in 1899 selling a steam-powered runabout that was based on the Stanley brother’s steam car design. The company sold steam cars until 1903 when it switched to a gasoline powered design. Locomobile was successful in selling its cars to the high-end, luxury market until 1920 when its financial troubles began. In 1922, Durant Motors acquired Locomobile and positioned the car as the most expensive car in its product line. Locomobile continued to produce cars until 1929. The Locomobile Catalog is limited to the cars produced while Locomobile was under the control of Durant from 1922 to 1929

The Star name was already registered for use in the British Empire by a company in Wolverhampton, England. So the Rugby was born.
